Martinborough is world famous for it’s vineyards and fabulous olive oil. While away the day browsing the eclectic collection of local shops, cafés and restaurants; which are an easy 1.5 km walk along country roads. Martinborough also has it’s own arthouse cinema, Circus, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and a movie. For the more adventurous at heart; quad biking, jet boating, walks and claybird shooting are also available in Martinborough.

Introduction to Awhea House
Awhea House is a restored 1870s colonial cottage, set on a 20 acre lifestyle block, just minutes from Martinborough Square. It has 3 luxurious queen bedrooms with beautiful bed linen. The large master bedroom overlooks the cottage garden and has its own ensuite. The main bathroom has a deep 2 person bath and separate shower.
Awhea House has been renovated with comfort in mind. With extensive lawns, gardens and views over the Tararua ranges it is a world away from city stress. A place where you can unwind and catch your breath. Luxuriate in the bath surrounded by candles, relax in the olive grove with a good book or enjoy a glass of local wine by the open fire and watch a movie.
Cook up a storm in the stylish, fully equipped kitchen or eat out at one of Martinborough's many restaurants. Fire up the BBQ and eat outside on the deck enjoying the peaceful privacy of the country. Generous country breakfast provisions are supplied, including our own freshly laid eggs and homegrown bacon, bread, cereal, juice and milk. We also supply freshly ground coffee, tea and kitchen essentials.
